About the Course

Mental health first aid (MHFA) course provides training in utilisation of MHFA model. This specified course trains you to understand perspectives on trauma that are beyond physical, it also prepares you to deliver mental health first aid tools in time of emergency or crises.

Example where you can use MHFA; dealing with aftershocks of suicide, accidents, traumatic events, loss, domestic violence, homicide, natural disaster.

About the Instructor

Rachana Awatramani has done her BA in psychology, after that she successfully completed MA in Counseling Psychology in 2010. She is also certified in Psychology First Aid by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. 

Rachana as the name means, to create, she has been inventing her own ways of dealing with self and her clients. She has worked with different schools and institutes in Mumbai like Fidai Institution, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Umang Foundation Trust. She is also the Founder-Director of Celebrating Life Welfare Trust and a Founder Member of Insight Counseling Services (ICS). She conducts training program and workshops on various psychology topics in India.
Course Format

Trainer assisted learning.
Each module will have its own activity and a pragmatic paper for better understanding.
Vignettes will be provided for more hands on training
